今回の記事は環境カメラマンをお休みして、誰でも知っていることだけれどももしかしたら知らない人もいるかもしれない、そんな少数派の人に向けて記事を書いてみようと思います。

別に専門的なことを書くわけではないので「今更？」と思われるかもしれませんが、知っている多数派の皆さんは、そうそうそれなと思いながら読んで頂けると嬉しいです。

記事の内容はずばりタイトルの通り、貴方のアバター不細工に見えていませんか？です。

This time I'm taking a break from being an environmental photographer to write an article on a different topic.

I'm going to talk about something that everyone may know about, but maybe some of you don't.

It's not like I'm going to write anything technical. But for those of you who know about it, please read it just to pass the time.

The content of the article is, as the title says, "Does your avatar look ugly?

SLを始めたばかりの皆さん、そうでない方ももしかしたらなのですが、他の人の撮影しているSSと違って自分のアバターが不細工に見えていませんか？

ここで言う不細工はシェイプ云々の話ではありません。シェイプはそれぞれ好みがあるでしょうから、人に不細工と思われていようが自分が満足していればそれで良いのです。人の好みに合わせる必要はありません。

しかしそうではない部分で自分のアバターが不細工に見えてしょうがない。何故だ？twitterやフリッカー、商品のADで撮影されている画像を見る限りそんなことないのに！容姿の編集で自分好みにしているはずなのに何故だ！どうしてこんなにホラー風味なんだ！そんなことはありませんか？

For those of you who have just started SL, and maybe even for those who haven't, do you find that your avatar looks ugly in comparison to other people's SS?

I'm not talking about the shape of your avatar. We all have our own preferences when it comes to shape, so it doesn't matter if people think your avatar is ugly or not, as long as you are happy with it. There is no need to conform to other people's preferences.

But why is it that I can't help but think my avatar looks ugly when I see snapshots posted on twitter, flicker, etc. Other people are beautiful. Why? Why does my avatar look so ugly? Do you ever have such a problem?

他のSIMへ撮影しに行った際に奇跡的にアバターが美しく見える瞬間がある。

でも自分の家に戻るとまた不細工に戻っている。そんな方はもしかしたら空の設定を見直せば自分のアバターが美しく見えるようになるかもしれません。

俺はFirestormを使っているのでその設定で説明しますが、ビューワーの上部にあるメニューに世界というものがあるはずです。それを選択し、世界＞自然環境を選択してみてください。

もしかして、正午にチェックが入っていたりしませんか？もし正午にチェックが入っている方はおめでとうございます。もしかしたらなんとかなるかもしれません。

共有された環境を使用にチェックが入っている方もなんとかなるかもしれません。

というのも、アバターの見え方はこの自然環境に強く影響されることがあるからです。

But when you return to your home, it looks ugly again. If that's the case, maybe you should review your sky settings.

I'm using Firestorm, so I'll explain using that setting. Try selecting World > Natural Environment.

Is there a check mark for noon? If you have a check mark at noon, congratulations. You may be able to work around it.

If you have "Use shared environment" checked, you may be able to work around it.

This is because the appearance of avatars can be strongly affected by this natural environment.

自分の環境という項目を選び、新しく現れた私の環境というメニューでライブラリ＞Environments>Skiesと辿ってください。

そのメニューの中にはたくさんの項目がありますが、お好きなものを右クリックして自然環境をローカルに適用を選択してみてください。

どれか選べないという方は[AnaLu]AvatarOptimalを選んで自然環境をローカルに適用をしてみてください。

どうでしょうか？アバターが全然違って見えませんか？

First, select the item "My environment". Then, in the new "My Environment" menu, go to Library>Environments>Skies.

There are many items in that menu, but try right-clicking on the one you like and selecting Apply Natural Environment Locally.

If you don't know which one to choose, select [AnaLu]AvatarOptimal and try to apply natural environment locally.

このように自然環境を変えるだけでSLの世界が劇的に変化します。

アバターだけでなく、景色も違って見えます。

プリセットがたくさん用意されていますので是非とも色々な自然環境を試してみてくださいね。お気に入りが見つからない場合もありますが、自分でもこの環境は作ることができます。

自然環境の作り方はこの記事では特に説明しませんので周囲の知ってそうな人に聞いてみてください。
